At the top of the wall is a terracota saucer Billie set there with bird food. Festus thinks if he waits patiently, he can catch himself a bird. Festus couldn't catch a wounded butterfly, of course. He's slow, clumsy and lumbering (for a cat). Some people would think leaving bird food out in a yard with cats around is cruel to the birds. Actually, we think it's cruel to our cats.
